Ulva Primary, Ulva Ferry, Isle of Mull

The Mull Roads

What do you see on the Mull roads, the Mull roads, the Mull roads,

What do you see on the Mull roads, when you drive along.

Deer running across the road, across the road, across the road,

Deer running across the road, and stags standing guard.

See a gannet diving, diving, diving,

See a gannet diving, and a starling eating seeds.

Flying like an aeroplane, an aeroplane, an aeroplane,

Flying like an aeroplane, starlings in a flock.

White sheep and horned cows, horned cows, horned cows,

White sheep and horned cows, standing in the road.

A buzzard hunting, hunting, hunting

A buzzard hunting, and an eagle swooping by.

Minx, cats and rabbits, rabbits, rabbits,

Minx, cats and rabbits, running away to hide.

The sunlight on the hillside, hillside, hillside,

The sunlight on the hillside, and the sunset over the sea.

A puffin saying ar-row-er, ar-row-er, ar-row-er,

A puffin saying ar-row-er, and the wren, the King of the Birds.

Spiral-jumping dolphins, dolphins, dolphins,

Spiral-jumping dolphins on a lovely summer's day.

Otters in the water, water, water,

Otters in the water, and the fin of a basking shark.

Seals like black bananas, bananas, bananas,

Seals like black bananas, balanced on the rocks.

What do you see on the Mull roads, the Mull roads, the Mull roads,

What do you see on the Mull roads, when you drive along.

How To Make A Kilt

If you want a kilt you start with a sheep,

Baa baa you'll make me cold.

Shear the wool and put it in a bag,

When it's finished it can be sold.

Card it to straighten and roll it for a rolag,

Baa baa you'll make me cold.

You'll need a spinning wheel to make the yarn,

When it's finished it can be sold.

Use a niddy noddy to wind it in a hank,

Baa baa you'll make me cold.

You need to make it clean in the kitchen sink.

When it's finished it can be sold.

Put it on a loom, the worp then the weft,

Baa baa you'll make me cold.

Thread the shuttle through, tighten with the reeds,

When it's finished it can be sold.

When you've made the cloth you fold the pleats,

Baa baa you'll make me cold.

Then you've made a colourful tartan kilt,

Now it's finished and it can be sold.
